Keene, NH – Peter D. Hansel (President at the time, now Chairman of the Board) of Filtrine Manufacturing Company, a fourth generation family-owned business located in Keene, NH, spoke at the New Hampshire Business for Social Responsibility’s 2016 annual conference at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH. The theme was “A Story Worth Sharing: The Chapters of Your Sustainable Journey”.

Peter joined Susan DeWirst, PR + Goodness Programs Manager at Tom’s of Maine and Dan Clapp, Branch Manager, NABCEP – PV Technical Sales of Revision Energy, as a panelist discussing “The ROI of Sustainable Business”. The moderator was Julia Gorte, Senior Vice President for Sustainable Investing, Pax World Management. The questions they explored were: what motivates a business beyond profit and loss, do the non-financial returns of businesses that have a strong connection to sustainability and community well-being affect financial returns, and what are the lessons other businesses can learn from their experience with making sustainability an integral part of their business operations?

Peter was invited to be part of the panel because of Filtrine’s ongoing commitment to investing in solar and other energy saving initiatives at Filtrine’s plant, serving Keene and the Monadnock Region as a supporter of many community events, as an Organizational Champion of Healthy Monadnock 2020 by sponsoring programs to improve employees’ health, and offering them incentives to work out at fitness clubs, and shop local.
